Nitish Kumar poster in Bengaluru
Posters criticizing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as an "unstable Prime Ministerial contender" emerged in various locations in Bengaluru, including Windsor Manor Bridge and Airport Road, during the mega Opposition meeting on Tuesday (18 July).
One of the posters highlights Nitish Kumar's failures, specifically the collapse of the Sultanganj bridge in Bihar, which occurred in April 2022 and then again in June 2023.
The poster reads, "The unstable Prime Ministerial contender. Bangalore rolls out the Red Carpet for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. First date of Sultanganj bridge collapse - April 2022. Second date of Sultanganj bridge collapse - June 2023."
Another poster mocks Nitish Kumar's efforts to unite the Opposition against the BJP-led government in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, despite bridges in Bihar being unable to withstand his governance.
Nitish Kumar had joined the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) last year, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, after breaking ties with the BJP. Since then, he has been actively working to unite opposition parties against the saffron party.
The Bengaluru Opposition meeting was attended by 26 opposition parties, including the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Trinamool Congress (TMC), and Samajwadi Party (SP).
On the same day, the NDA meeting in Delhi was attended by 38 parties, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairing the session. In his virtual address, PM Modi took a dig at the Opposition meeting, suggesting their focus is on family rather than the nation.
