After two years of organic growth, Swarajya Group is now seeking to develop a slew of sub-brands either through acquisitions or technical collaborations. It is also looking out for opportunities in the technology and humour space.
Following the acquisition, OpIndia will continue to operate as an independent platform and focus on building a full-fledged editorial set-up.
OpIndia will strengthen its current positioning as a news and views website that runs original opinion pieces, curates content from various sources, aggregates user-generated content on topical interests and serves as a media critique website. OpIndia's roadmap for the future will include the launch of OpIndia in Hindi and the generation of easy to consume digital content across formats including videos, listicles, podcasts, covering the segments of politics, business, technology, entertainment and sports.
Rahul Roushan, who recently joined Swarajya Group as its chief strategy officer, will spearhead the OpIndia initiative.
