The nodal agency K-RIDE (Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited has initiated the second round of tenders for the construction of stations on the Mallige Line (Corridor 2) of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP).

About 25.57 km long, Corridor-2 is estimated to be a Rs 859.97 crore project. It is divided into two packages: Baiyyapanahalli-Lottegollahalli and Lottegollahalli-Chikkabanavar.

This tendering process covers eight out of the 12 stations on the 25.57-km line from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara.

The previous tender was cancelled by K-RIDE in November 2023 after it received only a single bid from URC Constructions, which quoted approximately Rs 800 crore — nearly double K-RIDE's anticipated cost, according to The New Indian Express report.

Tenders were expected to be called again in February 2024, but delays ensued, exacerbated by the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.

On 15 June, tenders were called for eight stations: Benniganahalli, Kasturi Nagar, Seva Nagar, Banaswadi, Nagawara, Kanaka Nagar, Hebbal and Mathikere.

The scope of the tender includes entry/exit structures, steel foot over bridges, roof structures, architectural finishes, plumbing, facade work, detailed design, and engineering.
