Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Afcons Infrastructure Ltd are among four infrastructure majors who have entered the race to bag Rs 16,475 crore contract, involving civil works of 135 km in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project.
Technical bids for design and construction of civil and building works of a 135 km alignment between Shilphata and Zaroli on Maharashtra-Gujarat border including Thane, Virar and Boisar HSR stations for were opened on Wednesday (12 April).
Besides L&T, NCC-JKumar joint venture (JV), Afcons-KPTL consortium and Dineshchandra-DMRC JV have also submitted the bids.
Financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened once technical evaluation is completed, MAHSRCL maintains.
Earlier, financial bids were opened on 6 April, 2023 for construction of a tunnel for a double line between the 21-km-long Mumbai HSR station and Shilphata.
