Aiming at smooth movement of commuters, Ghaziabad RRTS station, the largest and tallest station of the priority section, will have five entry/exit gates for the convenience of passengers.
The priority section of Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is slated to witness trial run of the six-coach train-set this month for which preparations are afoot.
Out of these, three entry/exit gates will be connected to the station through foot over bridges (FOBs).
Ghaziabad RRTS station will connect Ghaziabad city to Meerut and Delhi at high speed. This elevated station is being constructed between three roads on Ghaziabad-Meerut road at Meerut Tiraha turn.
Due to its location, it is likely to be one of the busiest stations in Uttar Pradesh on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.
Lakhs of people residing in the Ghaziabad region commute through Meerut Road Tiraha daily. The new bus stand of Ghaziabad is also located a short distance from this station, from where bus services operate to many cities of western Uttar Pradesh.
Along with this, the Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda Metro Station is also located just a few steps away from this station, which results in increased footfall in the area.
Once the priority section of RRTS becomes operational, the Delhi Metro network of about 350 km will also be connected to the RRTS network through multi-modal integration providing commuters a safe, reliable and comfortable mass transit system.
Apart from this, Mahamaya Sports Stadium is also located in front of Ghaziabad Station which hosts thousands of people for various sports activities. With the operation of RRTS, better transport facilities will be available for the sports enthusiasts coming here from Delhi and Meerut.
Sai Upvan Harit Vatika is also within a few steps from the station, which is the centre of attraction for the people. The area being the hub of a number of facilities, the Ghaziabad RRTS Station will prove to be a game changer in public transport.
In order to provide hassle-free and safe access to a large number of commuters and make it universally accessible, it has been decided to build three entry-exit gates on all three sides of this station.
These entry/exit gates are being constructed on the other side of the roads surrounding the station so that the passengers can easily reach the station comfortably.
Since the commuters will be able to use these entry-exit gates free of cost to cross the roads as well without entering the paid area of the station, it will prove to be even more helpful to the residents.
All these three entry-exit gates will be connected to the station by foot over the bridge so that the passengers can safely reach the RRTS station.
The provision of lift and accelerator will also be made on these foot-over bridges. The construction of all the entry-exit gates is progressing at pace.
One entry-exit will be built at Chaudhary Charan Singh Park on the Delhi-Ghaziabad road, one entry-exit towards Arya Nagar and one towards Patel Nagar, connecting to the station by foot over the bridge.
Apart from these areas, this station will also provide facilitate people living in other areas of Ghaziabad including Sewa Nagar, Bhim Nagar, Hindon Vihar, Mukundpur, Madhopur, Islam Nagar, Kaila Khera, Jasipura, Brahmpuri and Lohia Nagar.
The entry/exit gates of this station will also have facilities like ramps and tactile paths to ensure seamless and accessible travel for physically challenged and visually impaired passengers.
