Agra Metro
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Wednesday (16 October) that it has been awarded the contract to design and construct Agra Metro Phase 1, Line-2 by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRCL). The project is expected to cost between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,500 crore and will be executed by L&T’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure division.
The project will involve constructing a 15.09 km elevated viaduct, 14 stations, and a 2.61 km depot along the metro stretch from Kalindi Vihar to Agra Cantonment.
S V Desai, Whole-time Director and Senior Executive Vice-President (Infrastructure) at L&T, highlighted the company's ongoing contribution to modernising India’s metro networks, reports Business Standard.
"L&T remains at the forefront of urban infrastructure development and contributes to the modernisation of India's metro networks in line with its strategic goals. This project will leverage L&T’s extensive expertise in engineering and high-quality execution,” Desai said in a statement.
