Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road (ORR) will soon get dedicated tracks laid for cyclists with roof covered solar panels.

The Outer Ring Road is a 158 kilometre, eight-lane ring road expressway encircling Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. The expressway is designed for speeds up to 100 kmph. The ORR was opened to traffic in different phases between 2008 and 2016.

Thus, the cycle track would cover the areas adjoining the city's IT hub and emerging residential areas.

Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), will implement the plan inspired by such facilities in South Korea.

According to Telangana Today, the cycle track includes parking spaces, surveillance cameras, bicycle docking and rental stations, food courts, drinking water, restrooms, lighting at night and basic bicycle repair shops.
