In a serious development, the number of COVID-19 positive personnel in New Delhi based 31st battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has surged to a whopping figure of 122, reports Economic Times.
The said battalion of the CRPF is based in New Delhi's Mayur Vihar-III region which was completely sealed a few days back after a big number of confirmed cases had begun to build up here. It should also be noted that test results of more than 100 personnel of the said battalion are still awaited. Also, most of the already confirmed cases have been identified to be asymptomatic.
Officials are said to have indicated that the primary source of COVID-19 outbreak in the battalion could be a nursing assistant constable from the National Capital Region (NCR) who had joined the battalion after finishing his leave period at his home. It could also be possible that some other asymptomatic personnel from the battalion are the primary source.
