Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has decided to not give its sanction to Delhi Police to prosecute former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar in a sedition case, reports The Hindu.

The decision to deny any prosecution and investigation has been taken as Delhi's Home Minister Satyendra Jain is said to be of the view that a case of sedition against Kumar is not justified out as per the evidence currently on the record.

The decision comes after much delay in spite of the Delhi Government committing to a Delhi court in April that it would decide its response within a month. Prior to that, the court had nudged the Delhi Government for the same in January 2019.
