AAP Opens Its Lok Sabha Account; Leads On One Seat Nationwide

The AAP has managed to open its account for the 2019 Lok Sabha results by leading on one seat in Punjab. As per the Election Commission trends, the AAP is leading on Sangrur Lok Sabha seat contested by senior party leader Bhagwant Mann.

Mann is defeating the second placed Congress candidate by a margin of 50,994 votes. This will come as little solace to the AAP as it is facing a rout in Delhi where the BJP is winning all the seven seats.

The AAP had desperately tried to stitch an alliance with the Congress in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab for the Lok Sabha polls but the negotiations were ultimately unsuccessful.
