After Sunni Bodies Reject 5-Acre Ayodhya Plot, Shia Waqf Board Asks For The Land To Build Hospital In Lord Ram’s Name

Commenting on the decision of the Sunni Waqf Board and All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) to reject the Supreme Court’s allotment of five acres of land for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya, Shia Waqf Board Chairman Wasim Rizvi yesterday (25 November) said that instead the Shia body should be allowed to take over the land and build a hospital and other structures there, reports The Print.

“If Sunni Waqf Board and the AIMPLB don’t want to take the 5 acres land, then it should give it to Shia Waqf Board. We will build a hospital in the name of Lord Ram. We will also build a mosque, temple, Gurudwara and a Church at the same place,” said Rizvi.

He added that just like people in Saudi Arabia were proud of the fact that their country was the birthplace of Prophet Mohammed, Indians need to feel proud of their land being where Lord Ram was born.

For its part, the AIMPLB has refused to accept the apex court’s judgment in the Ram Janmabhoomi case, and has submitted a review petition challenging it.

The Supreme Court had granted the entirety of the site in dispute to the Hindus, and had instead made an allocation of five acres of land in a different part of Ayodhya for a new mosque to be built there.
