A day after meeting Delhi Lt Governor (LG) Anil Baijal and Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal among others to discuss novel coronavirus situation in the city, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (15 June) chaired an all-party meeting to discuss the pandemic situation in Delhi.
Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, newly appointed Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Adesh Gupta, and Delhi Congress chief Chaudhary Anil Kumar were present at the meeting held at Shah's North Block office here.
Kumar, at the meeting, demanded that all citizens of the capital must have the right to testing for the viral diseases saying that testing and tracing was the only possible way of treatment.
“The Home Minister has accepted that. He has assured that under a new testing policy everyone will have right to testing,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying.
The Congress leader also alleged that the Delhi CM had been misleading people by blaming private hospitals for the crisis in the capital.
Shah held two meetings on Sunday -- one in which Kejriwal his deputy Manish Sisodia, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and Baijal were present, and the second which was also attended by all Delhi MC Mayors. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and members of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) were also present.
Delhi has reported 2,224 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours and 56 more deaths, taking the total fatalities in the national capital due to the virus to 1,327. The tally of total confirmed cases, whereas, has reached 41,182, with 24,032 active cases.
