Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday (13 December) announced that all the rebel MLAs excluding T T V Dhinakaran were welcome to return to the party, reports The New Indian Express.
He made the statement in reply to a journalist pointing out that a few AMMK members were joining the DMK. The CM later added that it was their choice and that it was his duty to invite the rebel MLAs to AIADMK - a party protected by Jayalalithaa and MGR. AMMK Ramanathapuram district organisation secretary joined the AIADMK in the presence of the CM on Wednesday (12 December) after heeding the call, EPS said, and added that anyone, except Dhinakaran, could return to the party fold.
Palaniswami, while talking to the media, said that the government had approached the Supreme Court regarding the Mekedatu dam issue as the Karnataka government had not acted as per the verdict of the apex court. The SC sought a report from the CWBC and the Karnataka government in four weeks. He added that his government had filed cases against D K Shivakumar, Karnataka Water Resources minister and its officials for violating the SC verdict.
