Ayodhya Title Dispute: Day-To-Day Hearing In Supreme Court From 25 July If Mediation Doesn’t Work 

Seeking a report into the progress made on by the mediation panel, the Supreme Court (SC) has said that if the mediation process on the Ayodhya dispute doesn't work, it will start hearing the case from 25 July on a day-to-day basis, reports Bar & Bench.

The Constitution Bench listening to the matter passed an order directing former Supreme Court judge, Justice F M I Kalifulla, who is chairing the panel, to submit a progress report by next Thursday.

The bench comprises of Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi and Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.

The bench has agreed to hear the application filed for an early hearing after one of the original plaintiffs in the case claimed that no progress has been made through the mediation panel ordered by the SC to settle the issue.

The court has ordered to keep the mediation proceedings confidential and empowered the mediators to pass specific written orders in this regard. The case was otherwise slated for a hearing after 15 August.
