In a bid to ensure that no disturbance of law and order apparatus took place post the verdict by the Supreme Court in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police has so far registered 34 cases over objectionable posts on social media, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Further, in regard of these cases, the State's police has so far made 77 arrests, while acting against as many as 8,275 social media posts in total. The details came out as the UP Police issued a public statement on Sunday (10 November) informing about the development.
In anticipation of the verdict, the State's administration had beefed up the security apparatus and had also announced the imposition of the stringent Section 144 in Ayodhya to ensure that law and order remained intact.
