West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was heckled by the students of the Jadavpur University on Monday (23 December), and also shown black flags twice, reports The Week.

The development comes after Governor Dhankgar had declared the University's decision to defer the special convocation scheduled on 24 December illegal and invalid.

Protesting against Governor Dhankhar, protesters from CPI(M)-backed SFI, Arts Faculty Students Union (AFSU), AISA, and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Students Union (FETSU) surrounded his car and shouted stooped to sloganeering while also showing him black flags when he arrived at the university to attend a meeting of the University's Court which is its highest decision-making body.

It should be noted that Dhankhar was unable to attend the meeting because of the students who had blocked the way to the meeting room, and where he was seated.
