The state of West Bengal is set to receive a major boost in road and rail connectivity as Indian Railways is set to inaugurate a 4-lane rail-cum-road bridge at Burdwan, which is also India's second only rail-road overbridge, reports Financial Express.

The project which has been executed by the Indian Railways in a partnership with the Government of West Bengal at a cost of Rs 300 crore on a 50:50 basis will be inaugurated in the presence of Union Minister for Railways, Piyush Goyal.

The MoU for the project was signed between the Indian Railways and the Government of West Bengal back in 2015. The bridge has a length of 188.4 meters and is presently undergoing final touches as the date of the inauguration is just around the corner.
