Ed-tech unicorn Byju's has been announced as the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s global partner for three years from 2021-2023, a big leap since 2019 when the Bengaluru based company had become the official jersey partner of the Indian cricket team, reports Economic Times.
As a result of the agreement, Byju's will partner all the ICC events including the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. Byju's will also have extensive in-venue, broadcast and digital rights across all ICC events.
ICC's chief executive Manu Sawhney shared, "We are excited to have Byju's on board as one of our global partners and look forward to having a great innings together." Meanwhile, the Bengaluru based company's founder and chief executive Byju Raveendran said, "We are excited to partner with ICC in championing world cricket."
Byju also added, "Sports is a big part of life for most Indians and cricket, in particular, holds a very special place in our hearts. It is a matter of pride for us as an Indian company to represent our nation on a global platform like this. Just as cricket inspires billions across the world, we too as a learning company hope to inspire the love of learning in every child’s life.”
