The Mahavir Mandir Trust in Patna has donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister Relief Fund to aid the state in its fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, Times of India has reported.
The trust manages a prominent temple in the city dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
The trust’s secretary Acharya Kishore Kunal was quoted as saying that their donation is aimed at strengthening the state in its efforts to contain the outbreak as well as providing food for the poor.
The temple trust has also assured that it is also ready to help the administration in other ways to ensure adequate for the poor and the needy.
Last year the temple trust had donated Rs 12 lakh to the Muzaffarpur administration for the supply of medicines and glucose among children during the coronavirus outbreak.
