Bihar: Tribals Fire Arrows At Muslims During Namaz Believing It To Be A Ploy To Grab Their Lands

The issue of Muslim community offering Namaz in public places to the discomfort took a dangerous turn when forest dwelling tribals took the Muslims offering Namaz on the lands as a threat in Dhulabari village of Sakhuadali panchayat, Thakurganj in Bihar.

On Wednesday, a group of Muslim men arrived at the tea-estates near the village to offer Namaz on the occasion of Eid. The tribal took this as an exercise to occupy their lands and attacked with their traditional weapons. The arrows hurt few of the visitors who were immediately taken to the hospital, reports Jagran.

Those injured were referred to city hospital from the Thakurganj PHC, and later MGM medical college. The civil surgeon himself accompanied the five injured men to the medical college. The necessary operations and medications were made available to them, and they are all out of danger, informed the hospital in-charge Dr Ashok Kumar Ghosh. Within few days, they will be able to walk as before, he added.

Previously, the community offering Namaz at public places had stirred up controversy in Gurugram. Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had clarified that the community should offer prayers in mosques or Idgah and not on public places, keeping in mind the convenience of the public.
