The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a list of three candidates for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats.
Ace cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been given a ticket from East Delhi and popular singer Hans Raj Hans would contest from North-West Delhi constituency. Incumbent MP Meenakshi Lekhi would be re-fielded from the New Delhi constituency.
Hans’ candidature came at the expense of incumbent MP Dr Udit Raj who had earlier threatened to quit the party if he did not get a ticket.
The Congress too has announced its candidates for six out of the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi.
Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit would contest from North East Delhi, Ajay Maken from New Delhi, Arvinder Singh Lovely from East Delhi, Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi and Rajesh Lilothia from North West Delhi.
Incidentally, Kapil Sibal would not contest from Chandni Chowk this time round and the seat has been given to J P Agarwal.
