Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s vice-president Baijayant Jay Panda and his counterpart from the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Sitaram Yechury are set to debate on the recent developments in Kashmir at the renowned Oxford Union, reports Hindu Businessline.
The debate which has been titled, "The Crisis In Kashmir: Should Special Status Have Been Revoked?" will witness Panda defending the decision of the Indian Parliament to de-operationalise the contentious Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
The Union has meanwhile stated that the debate will try to analyse whether the action is a misunderstood step towards greater national unity and prosperity or an alarming act of authoritarian overreach.
