Former Pakistan Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, has said that Pakistan should focus on improving ties with India and other neighbors rather than being United States of America’s (USA) client state. Khar claimed that the Islamic Republic has always imagined itself as a full strategic partner of US, which is far-fetched.
“Despite being the front-line state and the most suffered ally, the US had put Pakistan at number 54 on the list of countries it had trade partnerships,” said Ms Khar.
Furthermore, she said that Pakistan cannot attain respect in the comity of nations with a begging bowl.
Suggesting amends, the former Foreign Minister suggested that Pakistan should refuse to be a front-line state again and should get out of the Afghan war, as per reports by The Hindu.
Taking a jibe at the Imran Khan government, Rabbani said that the incumbent government is aping China, adding that while Beijing bought its people out of poverty, Pakistani rulers have been doing the opposite.
