In a bid to give a thrust to the state's mineral economy, Karnataka is set to unveil a new mineral policy for the span from 2021-26 in line with the Centre's National Mineral Policy, reports Economic Times.

Announcing the development on Monday (8 March), State's Chief Minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa said that a mineral policy had been implemented by the state government in 2008, and now it plans to introduce the policy with new reforms.

CM Yediyurappa also added, "Mining adalats will be started at four revenue divisions in the state under a single-window scheme. This will help address the grievances of people and speedy disposal of pending applications to start business."

He also said that the Mines and Geology Department is already working on the policy and it would be introduced soon.
