PM Modi Raises Issue Of Pakistani Mob Attacking Indian Mission, Diaspora In London On 15 August With UK PM Johnson

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Tuesday (20 August) held a telephonic conversation with United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson, in which he took up the matter of vandalism of the Indian High Commission in London by a Pakistan-led mob on 15 August, reports Economic Times.

PM Modi also raised the issue of challenges posed by vested interests pursuing their motivated agenda, using violent means.

In response to PM Modi's call on the matter, PM Johnson regretted the incident and assured that his administration will be taking up all necessary steps to ensure the safety of the mission, its personnel and visitors.

Earlier on 15 August, a large number of people comprising predominantly of British Pakistanis, Pro-Khalistan Sikhs and British Kashmiris gathered outside the Indian mission in London, where the Indian diaspora was celebrating the seventy third Independence Day of India.

The Pakistan-sponsored protesters threw stones and other objects on the Indian mission as well as the diaspora and also damaged the Indian tricolor.

In his first ever call with the newly elected PM of UK, PM Modi congratulated his counterpart and expressed his eagerness to work with him for strengthening the strategic partnership between India and UK.
