Some last minute tips for CA Final aspirants

First and foremost the candidates should be confident in their ability. The test is as much a test of the candidate’s endurance and mental toughness as much it is of their scholastic ability.

Handy short notes can be made which can be referred to before the exam. ICAI has introduced a new pattern consisting of 30 per cent objective questions and 70 per cent subjective questions. Candidate has to manage time accordingly to complete the entire question paper.

Candidates must remember that they are allowed to write exam in black ink only and in no other colour. Earlier both blue and black inks were allowed, however this has been changed with effect from November 2017 exams.

Similarly, candidates should not write or make different symbols like religious or prayers in the answer booklet. This may lead to disqualification from the exam.

The candidates should reach early to the examination hall to avoid unforeseen situations. While answering give assumption wherever possible and in questions involving application of law/standards etc, briefly state the facts, the legal position, your analysis backed up with case laws, if any and your conclusion.

Candidates are advised to write legibly, avoid spelling mistakes and grammatical errors as it may give a wrong impression to the examiner.

Last, but not the least - be positive. Whatever happens, it is not the end of the world. Go to the exam hall with a calm mind and try to get at least 8-9 hours of sleep the night before. Also make sure to carry ample amount of pens with you and read the questions carefully before answering.
