During the course of investigation into the Coimbatore blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had seized a pendrive from the house of Sheikh Hidayatullah, a friend of the deceased Jameesha Mubeen.
Of the 100 video clips in the pendrive, 15 were of radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik and 40 of them were of Zahran Hashim, the Sri Lankan suicide bomber behind the Easter Day bombings in Colombo. Another 15 were of murders committed by ISIS.
Both Azharudeen and Hidayatullah were picked up by the NIA in 2019. Hidayatullah had come out on bail two years later and was under observation.
The findings come after the seizure of handwritten notes on jihad and the discovery of highly dangerous explosives pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) and nitroglycerin from Mubeen's house.
