Tamil Nadu coronavirus cases rise.
A person took a flight from Tamil Nadu for the Tablighi Jamaat Aalami Markaz Nizamuddin congregations last month in Delhi faking his Aadhaar number, creating concern among State officials.
The officials are worried since the congregations at the Nizamuddin Markaz, also known as Banglewali Masjid, are the source of Coronavirus (Covid-19) for nearly 90 per cent of those who have tested positive for the pandemic virus in the State.
Puthiya Thalaimurai television reported that the incident came to light after police knocked at the door of a person at Valavanthi village near Musiri in Trichy district.
Chelladurai, the Valavanthi resident, was traced by the officials using the Aadhaar number that was given by a person who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat events.
Despite his protests, he was taken to the hospital for Coronavirus screening. The results showed him testing negative for the pandemic virus.
This forced the officials to scurry to the airport to find out more details. It then transpired that a person called Subeer Ali had travelled to Delhi misusing Chelladurai’s Aadhaar number.
While Chelladurai, his family and village got perturbed over the development, officials have launched a search for the person who actually travelled in the flight to Delhi.
So far, Tamil Nadu has 1,242 Coronavirus cases with 1,117 being traced to the Tablighi Jamaat congregations. Fourteen people have died of the pandemic virus.
