A detailed comparison between the multiple connection plans of Direct to Home (DTH) service providers Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV and D2h (formerly Videocon D2h) reveals D2h as the most lenient, flexible and consumer-friendly multi-TV system and economical choice for subscribers, the Telecom Talk reports.
D2h levies a flat Network Capacity Fee (NCF) of Rs 50 plus taxes for multi-tv connections, meaning subscribers need to only pay a total amount of Rs 50 plus content charges, for how many ever channels they subscribe.
Tata Sky subscribers took a hit last month when the operator announced it was discontinuing its Multi-TV policy. However, they introduced the Room TV service, under which customers pay Rs 153 NCF charge for every secondary connection. However, they can freely choose their channels.
Dish TV has a similar multi-TV policy to D2h, where customers pay Rs 50 NCF charges on their second connections. Dish TV also allows subscribers to choose their channels on the secondary connection.
Airtel Digital TV has the most expensive pricing policy, with an NCF of Rs 80. Further, the NCF is not a flat fee, meaning subscribers in to pay Rs 20 more for additional 25 channel slab over 100 channels. There is no option for mirroring of channels in Airtel Digital TV’s multi TV policy.
