Ahead of Diwali festival, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has invited short-term tender for installing statues of Lord Ram and Hanuman in Ayodhya, reports Times of India.
The bid is put up for UP Lalit Kala Akademi, the state-run academy for fine arts, for the installation of two fibre statues of Hanuman one of Ram, and a fibre diya (earthern lamp) at Ram ki Paidi, a chain of ghats on the bank of river Saryu revered by devotees.
“The statues will be installed on October 24, as a part of the annual Deepotsav, one day before the two-day festival commences” said Yashwant Singh Rathod, Secretary to the Akademi.
Earlier UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also announced installation of a bronze Ram statue on a 100-acre area in Ayodhya which will be built at an estimated cost of 2,500 crore.
