The BSES power discoms are planning to scale up to 150 charging points at their offices in the coming two years, Economic Times (ET) reports.
They are also planning to convert their entire fleet of vehicles to electric by 2030.
“Looking at the increasing count of EVs at BSES, the discoms plan to install around 150 more EV charging points for captive use over the next few months,” a BSES official was quoted in a report by ET.
The officer added, “In its quest to take rapid strides for sustainable development in Delhi, BSES continues to embrace emerging technologies in the realm of electric vehicles, EV charging, solar, energy efficiency, decentralised distributed generation and battery storage.”
Reportedly, BSES along with the other discoms are paving the way for creation of public charging stations.
They are empanelling private charging infrastructure providers to help install the EV chargers in places like hospitals, malls, theatres and housing societies.
Around 180 charging stations offer a total of 379 charging points in Delhi currently.
