Delhi Metro: Pink Line’s Shiv Vihar–Trilokpuri Stretch Granted Safety Clearance, To Be Operationalised Soon

The safety clearance for opening Shiv Vihar Trilokpuri section of the Delhi metro’s pink line has been issued to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation by the Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), Metro Rail News has reported.

The safety inspection of the pink line stretch was conducted on 20 October. CMRS Shailesh Kumar Pathak while issuing the safety clearance to DMRC also put forth some observations and conditions. DMRC will have to fulfil these conditions before announcing any date for opening of the stretch.

The Shiv Vihar - Trilokpuri section is a part of the 59 km-long Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor which is also known as Pink Line. Once the 17.86 km-long elevated section of the pink line becomes operational, it will immensely benefit commuters from Ashram and Mayur Vihar.

There will be 15 stations in the route between Shiv Vihar and Trilokpuri which include Shiv Vihar, Johri Enclave, Gokulpuri, Maujpur-Babarpur, Jaffrabad, Welcome, East Azad Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Karkardooma Court, Karkardooma, Anand Vihar ISBT, I P Extension, Mandawali-West Vinod Nagar, East Vinod Nagar-Mayur Vihar II and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake.

There are three interchange stations in the section at Anand Vihar for Blue Line, Karkardooma for blue line and at Welcome for red line.
