Dish TV is aiming to add 1.4 million net subscribers in Financial Year 20 (FY20), the Television Post reports. The direct to home (DTH) operator had added 0.7 million subscribers in FY19 to reach 23.7 million subscribers.
“So, we have a plan actually to get back to our 14 lakhs or 1.4 million kinds of net adds this year. So, the start has been promising and we are hoping to get there”, Dish TV Group CEO Anil Dua said.
After the implementation of new tariff order (NTO), various cable TV service providers are struggling to adapt to the new regime due to which customers had migrated to DTH platforms.
Dish TV has a strong semi-urban and rural base, which would benefit after the top four broadcasters withdrawing Hindi entertainment and movie channels from Door Darshan (DD) Free Dish Platform, Dua adds.
He also believes that the Dish TV special India Cricket service will benefit from the throughout the year cricket season to boost subscriber addition.
