Drug Overdose Takes Another Life: Co-Founder Of Vine, HQ Trivia Colin Kroll Passes Away Aged 34

Colin Kroll aged 34, the co-founder of the video application Vine, and popular game HQ Trivia, has been found dead in his apartment in New York, on Sunday (17 December), reported the New Indian Express.

HQ Trivia, after learning about the tech executive tweeted, "We learned today of the passing of our friend and founder, Colin Kroll, and it's with deep sadness that we say goodbye. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."

According to CNN news, the police found Kroll in an unresponsive and unconscious condition in his bedroom, this was after his girlfriend called them to check up on him.

While there's a lot of uncertainty around the cause of his death, TMZ reported the apparent cause to be a drug overdose. A police source informed TMZ, the cops believe the involvement of cocaine and heroin.

Rus Yusupov, the co-partner of Kroll at Vine and HQ Trivia, tweeted, "So sad to hear about the passing of my friend and co-founder Colin Kroll. My thoughts & prayers go out to his loved ones. I will forever remember him for his kind soul and big heart. He made the world and internet a better place. Rest in peace, brother.”

Vine, a short-form video hosting service, in which users can share six-second-long looping video clips, was founded by Kroll and Yusupov in 2012. While the platform shut in January 2017, it launched careers of various social media stars like Logan Paul and Shawn Mendes.
