Farmer Protests in Delhi (Doordarshan)
Members of the protesting farmers unions have refused to cooperate with the Supreme Court's committee to discuss the farm laws and have declared that their protests will continue.
As reported by ANI, Bhartiya Kisan Union (R) chief Balbir Singh Rajewal has alleged that the SC mandated committee is pro-government and has been justifying the new farm laws. He also added that the unions will not be appearing before the committee.
Krantikari Kisan Union chief Darshan Pal also reiterated that they have made it clear that they will not be accepting any committee formed by Supreme Court for mediation.
The Supreme Court today (12 January) suspended the Narendra Modi led central government's farm laws, until further orders.
The Supreme Court has also announced that it will constitute a four committee to hold talks between the protesting farmers and the government.
The protesting farmer unions have announced that they will not be cooperating with the committee.
