In a bid to develop a 100 per cent renewable energy roadmap for the State, Chief Minister (CM) Pramod Sawang led Goa Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Germany-based Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, reports Economic Times.
The MoU has been inked by the State Government upon the advice of the Union Ministry for New and Renewable Energy, with the aim to create a strategic unit for developing, maintaining, and implementing the multi-sectoral energy action plan of the State.
Under the partnership, GIZ will also provide technical assistance to monitor, report, and modify components of the renewable energy roadmap by organizing periodic steering committee meetings and subsequently provide technical assistance to implement mutually agreed upon priority activities.
