American financial services firm Goldman Sachs has invested a whopping $250 million to build one of its largest office spaces anywhere in the world in Bengaluru, reports The Hindu.
The new workplace is spread out at 1.2 million square feet and can accommodate up to 9,000 employees. Presently, over 5,000 Goldman Sachs employees work from Bengaluru, but are spread across six different locations, and the new office space is aimed at bringing all these individuals to one place.
“The Bengaluru office has grown in size and technological sophistication to become an incubator of talent for our businesses around the globe. The significant investment we have made to build this workplace reflects the importance placed on the high-quality work done in India and our focus on hiring the best talent,’’ said Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO David M Solomon.
The company has grown rapidly in Bengaluru since 2004, when it had only 290 employees in the city, and the new office space will come in handy to handle fast growth in the future.
