The Government is prepping up to deploy thousands of wristbands embedded with the Aarogya Setu application to monitor the movements of patients in a hospital, as well as in home quarantine, reports Economic Times.
The move is aimed at ensuring adequate care being taken by the frontline corona warriors when visiting the houses for the screening of patients for COVID-19. The wristbands will make sure that those quarantined stay at a decided place and that the hospitals are informed in case the wristband is taken off.
The Government has empowered the Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) to pitch the designs to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other Government-run hospitals this week and thereafter to the State Governments.
BECIL is working in collaboration with Bengaluru and Gurugram based startups to design the wristband while also looking into the commercial aspect of technology procurement for the Government.
