A grand ‘Hindu Samajotsav’ being organised in Kasargod, Kerala will be addressed by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, The New Indian Express has reported. The Samajotsav is to take place in Kasargod- a Kerala district bordering Karnataka, on 16 December.
While preparations are in full flow for a new phase of the nation-wide campaign for construction of the Ram Mandir, Yogi’s Samajotsav is expected to give a big push to Sabarimala agitation in Kerala.
The rally is not only seen as a platform to spread awareness about the Sabarimala temple to other states but also as a way to set the tone for the upcoming lok sabha elections in 2019.
“The rally has been organised to mobilise public opinion against Kerala government’s anti-Hindu stand over Sabarimala issue, love jihad, and other issues which are threatening the interests of Hindu community,” Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) secretary for Mangaluru division, Sharan Pumpwell said. Specific plans for protests over Sabarimala issue in the state of Karnataka have not been finalised.
