While protesting farmers from Punjab continue to demand the withdrawal of the three recent farm-sector legislations meant to reform the agri-marketing regime and drive in investments, a delegation of 29 farmers from Haryana yesterday (12 December) met with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to extend their support to the reforms, reports Livemint.

The delegation warned Tomar, that they would stage a protest if the Government was to repeal the new laws amid uproar by protestors from Punjab. They stated, "We will also protest if the government repeals the laws. We have given a memorandum to all districts."

Prakash also pressed, "It has taken a political colour. Farmers will get real freedom through these three laws. It has taken a political colour. Farmers will get real freedom through these three laws."

The development gains significance as this was the second group of farmers from Haryana that met Tomar and extended support to the farm laws. The first group had met him on 7 December.
