The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has assured that India has sufficient stock of the Covid-19 drugs after Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya assessed the supply and availability of these medicines on Wednesday.

A strategic buffer stock has been created for about eight drugs, namely: Posaconazole, Enaxopirin, Dexamethasone, Remdesivir, Amphotericin B deoxycholate, Tocilizumab, Methyl Predinisolone and also intravenous Immunoglobulin.

The Health Ministry added that adequate stock of medicines and raw materials have been made available in necessary quantities across the country.

Moreover, the state health ministers of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were directed to ramp up the pace of vaccination in the districts that border Kerala, possibly owing to the rapid surge of cases in the southern state.

Senior officials from the Union Health Ministry were a part of this review meeting chaired by Mandaviya, Times of India reports.
