Ladakh BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was recently on an extensive three day tour to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) amid the tensions between India and China. He also interacted with the Indian Army at the Chartsey post at the LAC during his visit.
Earlier on Wednesday (10 June), Namgyal took to Twitter to react to a post from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, taking a jibe at him.
Rahul Gandhi has been making comments on the border dispute and has been asking the government to come clean on the issue. He has said in a post on Twitter: "The Chinese have walked in and taken our territory in Ladakh."
Addressing Rahul Gandhi, Namgyal stated four points in the post and said that hopefully they (Congress) "won't try to mislead again."
The points he has stated are:
One: Aksai Chin (37,244 square km) in 1962 during Congress regime.
Two: Tia Pangnak and Chabji Valley (250km) in Chumur area till 2008 during UPA time.
Three: Zorawar Fort in Demjok was destroyed by PLA in 2008 and setup PLA's Observing Point in 2012 during UPA regime and also created Chinese/new Demjok/Colony with 13 cemented houses.
Four: India lost Doom Cheley (ancient trade point) between Dungti and Demjok in 2008-2009 during UPA regime.
In another post on Twitter, the Ladakh MP recited “Key Key So So Lhar Gyallo”, which means "victory to the gods".
Senior BJP leader and union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has attacked Rahul Gandhi on the matter. Prasad has said that Rahul Gandhi is the same person who had asked for evidence after the Uri and Balakot attacks.
