Hyderabad: AIIMS Aspirant Takes Coaching Centre To Court For Failing To Prep Him As Promised

BySwarajya Staff

For not preparing him well enough to crack the AIIMS entrance test for post-graduation, a 20-year-old doctor has taken the coaching centre to the court. Apart from demanding the coaching fee of Rs 45,000 be refunded, the doctor has also appealed to the consumer forum that he needs to be compensated for Rs 32,000.

Bhatia Medical Institute in Hyderabad’s Chikkadpally promised Rao that he will be assigned to Dr Devesh Mishra, a popular pathologist. According to R Sankara Rao, the coaching centre failed to assign doctors to take classes. Other allegations are that the centre did not cover the syllabus portions completely. The coaching centre has denied all the allegations.

Consumer Forum 3 in Hyderabad has said that the coaching centre did not live up to the expectations as promised to the consumers. The New Indian Express quoted the order that read, “The opposite parties are only coaching institutes and when they promise a certain standard, it should be observed carefully. That the complainant should obtain a seat in AIIMS is certainly not their responsibility but the path towards the flat goal should not be hindered by not delivering.”
