In an amusing development, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s post on Instagram went viral, albeit for a different reason.
Actually, Khan on his official Instagram channel posted a video clip from the 1984 Bollywood movie Inquilaab to highlight the conspiracy against his government. The clip shows Kader Khan in the role of a corrupt politician who is giving a speech about using unethical ways to remove the current government to his party members.
PM Khan equated the character of Kader Khan with his political opponents. He wrote on Instagram, “It is what has been planned against the PTI govt from day one by the corrupt mafias.”
Journalist Naila Inayat made a screen recording of the Instagram video and shared it on Twitter. She stated, “*Good Bollywood* to the rescue of PM Imran Khan.”
The post went viral on social media and Netizens were left amused by the video. They also questioned PM Imran Khan’s decision to use a Bollywood movie clip to make a point.
However, this did not stop several users from taking a dig at the prime minister.
One user wrote, “You know things have reached a breaking point when Imran Khan uses a clip from a Bollywood film to make a political point on his official, verified Insta account ”
Another remarked, “LOLOLOLOL! The Insta post has been deleted! Yet another U-turn!”
One user stated, “The same Bollywood that is responsible for denigrating social and moral values in Pakistan? Life has come a full circle for Imran Khan.”
Another jibed, “Hahahaha kya mast padosi mile hain. @ImranKhanPTI behtareen comedy Khan saab.”
The post was later taken down by the prime minister for “unknown reasons”.
