Indian diplomacy has been registering great achievements in the recent times, which includes the UN sanction against global terrorist Masood Azhar.

Adding another feather to its cap, the Indian diplomats at United Nations (UN) have now scored another great feat by getting Jagjit Pavadia re-elected to the UN’s International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), defeating China's candidate, reports Economic Times.

Pavadia received 44 votes while China's candidate won only 22, which is half the tally achieved by Pavadia. In the next round, China did even worse and came the last with just 19 votes, being beaten by French and Colombian candidates who had scored 31 votes each.

The victory was registered just a day after Pakistan-based terrorist Masood Azhar was put on the UN sanctions list. This also involved major diplomatic help from France, United Kingdom and United States.

"In international contests, we have soft skills to make a compelling case and win. What we also need is to develop the ability to win where muscle needs to be displayed," said India's permanent representative Syed Akbaruddin on this win.
