Western railways built ramps overnight at Kalamboli and Boisar stations to enable faster supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to Mumbai according to a Mid Day report.

Indian Railways stepped in to support and ease the movement of liquid medical oxygen tankers across the country last week after the Maharashtra Government had requested the same in this regard.

After reaching Kalamboli and Boisar, the tankers would travel further inside the city through the road.

Previously, Indian Railways had issued transportation rates, weight requirements and other such details for ferrying LMO.

Indian Railways has also decided not to levy any surcharges and provide five hours of free cargo handling time.
