Indian Railways To Operate 392 Special Trains From 20 October To 30 November To Serve Surging Festive Demand

Indian Railways has decided to operate 392 special trains across the nation between 20 October and 30 November to serve the surging demand due to festive season, reports Livemint.

The trains will be operated on a temporary manner and the fares for the same will be 1.3 times of the normal fare, in line with the norms issued in 2015. As per the Indian Railways spokesperson, the fares for such special trains are 1.3 times of the normal fare on average.

The spokesperson clearly stated that the trains will be discontinued after 30 November.


It should be noted that presently, the Indian Railways is operating more than 600 trains. Full-fledged resumption of rail services is still to be achieved.

The services had been completely suspended back in March with the onset of COVID-19 lockdown across the nation.
