An Indian think tank called Usanas Foundation, based in Rajasthan’s Udaipur, has sent a petition to the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General and other top officials of the world body regarding state-sanctioned violence against religious and ethnic minorities in Pakistan, reports Economic Times.
In its petition, the think tank has highlighted atrocities against the Shia community of Pakistan and the violation of their fundamental rights. It also made a specific reference to the recently held extremist protest marches by Pakistan's Sunni community seeking the execution of the Shias on account of blasphemy.
In the petition, the think tank highlighted the dastardly murder of Budgam Block Development Council's Chairman Bhopinder Singh and Srinagar based lawyer-activist Babur Qadri by Pakistani terrorists.
