India’s Organic Exports Surge By More Than 50 Per Cent In 2018-19 Reaching Record Heights

India's exports of organic products have touched an all-time high by registering a remarkable surge of 50 per cent in 2018-19, touching a figure of Rs 5,151 crore ($757 million), reports Hindu Businessline.

As per the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority of India (APEDA), the surge has been led by the demand in the global markets for Indian tea, soybean, medicinal plants, rice and pulses, flax seeds and sesame among several other such offerings.


The Government of India has been pushing for increasing India's organic exports to the world, with APEDA leading the efforts. APEDA which is a statutory body under the control of the Ministry of Commerce.
