Infiltration Bid By Pakistan Army’s Border Action Team Foiled By Indian Army In North Kashmir’s Tangdhar Sector

The Indian Army today foiled an infiltration bid by Pakistan Army’s Border Action Team (BAT), the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps (XV Corps) has said.

Alert troops of the Indian Army had observed the movements of three to four intruders close to a forward post along the Line of Control in Thangdhar village of Kupwara in the northern part of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

With timely action, troops in the area were able to foil the bid.

This comes just days after the Indian Army foiled Pakistan’s bid to send a huge cache of weapons, including warlike stores, from across the Line of Control to the terrorists it has trained and infiltrated into the Kashmir Valley.

Pakistan Army’s BATs have both regular soldiers and trained terrorists. These teams ambush Indian soldiers on patrols along the Line of Control or those deployed at forward posts of the Indian Army. In the past, Pakistan’s BAT teams have killed and beheaded Indian Army soldiers along the Line of Control.

Pakistan Army’s BATs have also killed Border Security Force jawans along the International Border. Recently, Pakistan’s BATs were in news for beheading two civilians in an ambush laid within Indian territory.
